Michael O'Leary

Eddie Burke

Michael served his time as a fitter before making the move to Western Australia to work in mining. Never one to shy away from responsibility, at 26 and the youngest man in the gold mine, he was made Maintenance Supervisor  responsible for a team of seventy men. In '01 looking for a new challenge he re-located to the U.S. becoming Fleet Superintendent in charge of over one hundred machines.

Michael returned to Ireland in '04 and began working with Embankment Machinery Sales (EMS) as their Service Manager.

In '06 he started South Meath Enterprises in his native Meath. Since then he has built up a loyal customer base due to his honesty and hard work. Michael feels that developing a relationship with his customers and his local community is paramount to a successful business. He feels this can only be achieved through honesty and fair dealings.

Eddie, too, is a fitter by trade. After qualifying as Apprentice of the Year from Bolton Street, he continued to hone his skills on the service floor of McCormick Macnaughton.

In his twenties he made the leap to the administration side of the business going on to become the Service Manager for CATERPILLAR Ireland. While here he introduced the Service Management Control System. He was in charge of the forklift division for 14 years and also specialised in drill rigs and mining equipment.

He later made his move to sales. He has achieved consistent turnover growth whilst at the same time maintaining great customer relations. Eddie has a great reputation as a problem solver - coming up with innovative solutions where others have failed.

Eddie joined South Meath Enterprises in January of 2011 and brings with him his unique brand of sales and business development. He brings a wealth of experience and bases his model of business on integrity and transparency in dealings.
